These terms cover this website and anything you buy from us. They are meant to be read, not endured.
Who you are dealing with
Gnarly Goat Coffee Company is an independent, veteran owned coffee roaster based in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. Reach a human at anthony@gnarlygoat.coffee.
This site versus the store
gnarlygoatcoffee.com is a marketing site. Nothing is sold here. Every buy button sends you to gnarlygoat.coffee, our store, which runs on Square. Purchases happen there, and Square's own terms and privacy policy apply to that checkout in addition to these terms.
Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it by charging your payment method and shipping the coffee. We may decline or cancel an order — if a lot sells out, if a price or description is wrong, or if something looks fraudulent — and if we do, you are not charged, or you are refunded.
Prices, availability, and the coffees on offer change. Single origins are bought in small lots and sell out; when a lot is gone it is gone, and the replacement will taste different. That is the nature of the product, not a defect.
Supply Drop subscriptions
Supply Drop is a recurring order. You choose the number of bags, the roast level, and the cadence. We choose the coffee — that is what makes it a Supply Drop.
- Square bills your saved payment method automatically on the schedule you selected.
- Billing continues until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time through the account link in your Square order confirmation, or by emailing us and asking. We will not make you sit through a retention call, because there is nobody here to staff one.
- Cancelling stops future renewals. An order already roasted and shipped is not reversed by cancelling.
Shipping
Coffee is roasted to order in small batches, so orders ship after roasting rather than the same day. Once a parcel is with the carrier, delivery timing is theirs, not ours. Tracking is emailed when the label is created.
If something is wrong
Coffee is a perishable food product, so we do not take returns on opened bags for reasons of taste. Everything else, we will make right.
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, stale, or never arrives at all, email us and we will replace it or refund it. Tell us within a reasonable time of delivery and include a photo if something is physically wrong with the bag. We would rather fix a problem than win an argument about it.
Merchandise is printed on demand by our fulfillment partner. Misprints, defects, and wrong sizes shipped in error are replaced. Ordering the wrong size yourself is handled case by case — ask.
Wholesale
Wholesale accounts are served on invoice with terms agreed directly. Those written arrangements govern the wholesale relationship, and where they conflict with this page, they win.
Discount codes
Promotional codes are for one use per customer unless stated otherwise, cannot be combined, hold no cash value, and can expire. We can withdraw a code that is being abused.
Using this site
The words, photographs, artwork, label designs, and the Gnarly Goat name and marks on this site belong to Gnarly Goat Coffee Company. You are welcome to link to us and to share our posts. Do not copy the artwork onto your own products.
Do not attempt to break, overload, or scrape this site.
Naval Academy tradition
The Gnarly Goat name is an homage to U.S. Naval Academy tradition. The U.S. Navy, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the Department of Defense do not sponsor or endorse this company, and nothing here should be read as suggesting otherwise.
The lawyerly part
This site and its contents are provided as they are. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to a purchase is limited to what you paid for the order that the claim concerns. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot legally be limited — and food safety liability is not something we would try to disclaim anyway.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. The version published when you place an order is the one that governs that order.
